Coleman to Reduce Services
The Coleman Troop Medical Clinic will cease full patient care services June 1, to include pharmacy services, and transition to sick call support beginning June 4. In addition, all dental support at the Coleman Dental Clinic, to include dental sick call services, will cease May 1. Dental services for the Mannheim-Coleman Soldier population will transfer to the Patrick Henry Village Dental Clinic. The sick call sign-in hours at Coleman TMC beginning June 4 will be 8 – 9:30 a.m. The sick call service will be reassessed on a monthly basis to determine continuation based on use.
HHC Optometry Services
The Heidelberg Health Center’s optometry department has reduced care to provide services only for active duty military and their family members (those enrolled in TRICARE Prime). The change is necessary as the optometry staff is down to only one provider and can no longer accommodate all previously seen beneficiaries. As such, the optometry clinic no longer supports care for dependent parents, Department of the Army and Department of Defense civilian employees, and contractors. Optometry services for these beneficiaries can be obtained via host nation providers. “These changes are in line with USAREUR's transformation plan and the relocation of units in Germany,” said Lt. Col. Rachele Smith, Officer-in-Charge of the Heidelberg Health Center. “As we continue to adapt our health care platform to support transformation in Europe, we will continue to keep our beneficiaries informed of changes in our services.”
PFCC Meeting May 23
The next Heidelberg Health Center Patient & Family Centered Care meeting takes place May 23 at 5 p.m. in Bldg. 3613, Room 1081 on Nachrichten Kaserne. The PFCC meeting is open to all community members to discuss health care services at HHC. There will be representatives present to answer questions and provide information from the command staff, TRICARE, Primary Care, and Patient Advocates.
